Color scheme for the Van Leeuwenhoek building
In the late 1990s, Holleman created several color schemes for
residential buildings, including ones in Utrecht, Leiden, and
Zoetermeer. One of those plans was for a gallery apartment building on
Van Leeuwenhoeklaan in Zoetermeer. This building underwent extensive
renovation in 1997, including the addition of new main entrances,
improvements to the storage areas, new units on the ground floor, and
the construction of a new park where the old parking facility used to
be. As part of this renovation, Holleman's color scheme for the
building's façade was executed. The color design aimed to break up the
building's massiveness without disrupting its coherence and to emphasize
the main entrances.
